Jon discovered OzHarvest in 2004 when he was looking for somewhere to take the large amounts of leftover food from his studio shoots. He’d always been disturbed by the enormous amount of food being wasted in the advertising industry and up till then had been simply throwing whatever I could in the back of his car and taking it to a local mens shelter. When he called into OzHarvest for the first time it was a relief to find an organisation that felt as he did about food waste and was actually doing something about it on a large scale.
Since then OzHarvest has gone from strength to strength – expanding all over Sydney, throughout Australia and now overseas as well. A few years ago Jon found himself in a position where he really wanted to start giving something back and was looking for a good cause to get involved with. OZHarvest had just moved into a warehouse in the same street as Jons studio so he popped in to ask if they could use his skills in any way. That meeting started a working relationship that has now spanned over five years.
